I have always thought that the Maldives are only accessible to millionaires; or at least people on their honeymoon who spend all their savings. But did you know that you can visit the Maldives on a slightly smaller budget? We went backpacking in Asia for a long time and decided to do this in the Maldives. You can even spend a few days lazing around on an (almost) uninhabited island, regardless of the time of year. While it doesn’t have to cost anything at all!
Backpacking in the Maldives for 20 euros a day
I understand that all this requires some evidence. That’s why Suus and I went backpacking for only 20 euros a day in the Maldives. By taking local boats, sleeping among the locals and visiting the most remote paradise islands, we see a whole new side of the Maldives. While we also get to experience much more of the culture and the beautiful people who live there. Take a quick look at how we did this!
