During our world trip, we landed in Honduras. To be precise, on the North Coast in the Caribbean Sea, on the island of Roatán. While touring the island, we stumbled upon a place that feels like a private paradise: Little French Key. It’s a “Bora Bora-style” sanctuary that offers exactly what you need when you’re looking for that ultimate island escape.
The Private Island Experience
Little French Key is a private island resort located just a short boat ride from the shore of Roatán, Honduras. It’s famous for its turquoise lagoons, white sand, and the famous rope swings over the water. As we mentioned in our video: it’s a bit commercial, and it’s not the cheapest day out, but what you get in return is pure wonder.
In 2026, the experience has evolved. The island remains a top-rated destination, offering everything from horseback riding in the ocean to snorkeling in the vibrant coral reefs.

If you’re planning a visit today, here are the key updates:
Pricing & Packages: Expect to pay between $70 and $125 depending on your package (Discovery vs. Full Island). Many visitors now opt for the “Sloth & Monkey” add-on, as the animal rescue center on the island has become a major highlight.
The “Quiet” Secret: Our favorite tip from the video still stands—stay until the end of the day. When the cruise ship crowds head back to the docks, you’ll have this “Bora Bora” paradise almost entirely to yourself before catching the last boat back to West End.
